Level 1 -3 team shines at District and Western Cape Championships

The girls of Paradigm Gymnastics Club turned heads recently with a series of stellar performances at both the Cape Town District Trials and the Western Cape Championships, proving that talent and determination can outshine adversity.
Their journey began with their first in-house competition held at Mitchell’s Heights Primary School, designed as a warm-up for the upcoming district-level events. That preparation paid off — and in a big way.
At the Cape Town District Trials, held at the Western Cape Sports School in Kuils River, the team delivered a remarkable performance, with many gymnasts earning gold medals in their respective categories.
“Overall, I am extremely proud of these kids. They showed off their hard work and commitment at the first major event, with most of them achieving gold,” said coach Head Coach Adnaan.
But the real test came at the Western Cape Championships, where they competed against gymnasts from so many elite clubs. Once again, the Paradigm team rose to the occasion, returning home with an impressive collection of gold, silver, and bronze medals.
Striving Through Struggles
The journey hasn’t been easy for Paradigm Gymnastics. Based in the
Cape Flats, the club operates with limited access to training facilities,
short practice hours, and no permanent venue of their own. Despite
these challenges, the girls continue to excel — a testament to their
passion and the commitment of their coaches.
The coaches expressed sincere gratitude to the principal of Mitchell’s
Heights Primary School, who has generously made the school hall
available for training.
Beyond Medals: Building Futures
While success on the podium is always celebrated, Paradigm
Gymnastics Club has a much broader vision.
“We’re not just here to win competitions, our goal is to create a safe, nurturing space for girls, away from negative influences. Gymnastics is more than a sport — it plays a key role in developing both physical and mental strength.”
With raw talent, unwavering determination, and the guidance of dedicated coaches, Paradigm’s young gymnasts continue to rise — not just in rankings, but as confident, empowered individuals.
Now, with medals around their necks and dreams in their hearts, these girls are not just representing their club — they're representing hope for their community and to be the ambassadors of Cape Flats gymnastics.
