Our Classes

Pre-School Gymnastics (Fun Gym)

Play is a serious business; it should be a fun, enjoyable activity, which stimulates the development of mind and body.

A good pre-school gym experience can provide social, physical, lingual & intellectual, creative & emotional awareness and improve concentration, competence & confidence.

Paradigm's movement for early years’ programmes help to improve balance, co-ordination, social and educational skills providing under 5’s with a quality physical movement experience.

Participants learn how to use different objects to help them practice basic skills such as walking (running) rolling, hopping, jumping, throwing and catching.

Beginner Girls 7-10 years

Our Beginner Girls program is for 7 years + and is a follow on class from Fun Gym.
Beginner classes are for children who would like to develop their gymnastic skills while working on strength and flexibility. Classes are fun, challenging and include instruction on all gymnastics apparatus; Vault, Bar, Beam, Floor and Trampoline whilst learning skills and drills to help perfect their technique and extend their skills.

Please note it is normal for a beginner gymnast to take 2-4 terms to develop the skills required to transition to a higher class. Gymnasts are assessed by coaching staff prior to acceptance into Intermediate and Advanced classes.  Current gymnasts are assessed towards the end of each term and gymnasts are notified prior to the start of term if they are able to move up classes.

Level 1 - 2

Focused on balancing developing motor skills, hand-eye coordination, strength, and flexibility with social, listening, and cooperation, this class is taught by instructors qualified to offer structure in a fun environment. Introducing concepts such as cardio balance and strength.

Level 2 gymnastics skills are fundamental techniques across the four apparatus: Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor. These include a 1-second handstand hold, backward roll to a push-up position, and a bridge kickover on the Floor; a cartwheel to a side handstand dismount on the Beam; and a glide swing and back hip circle on the Bars.

Level 4

Gymnastics Level 4 refers to a compulsory competitive level in the South African Gymnastics Federation (SAGF)'s Developmental Program, where gymnasts learn specific routines for each apparatus and compete to meet minimum standards and score a minimum overall score to advance to the next level. The level requires gymnasts to master a variety of skills, including the cartwheel, split leap, and handstand on the balance beam, and to perform specific compulsory routines on other apparatus.

Level 5

Gymnastics Level 5 refers to a specific skill and competitive level within Gymnastics South Africa (GSA)'s artistic gymnastics program. Level 5 gymnastics involves compulsory routines with foundational, yet more challenging skills than Level 4. Key skills across the four apparatus include a back walkover or back handspring on beam, a full turn, and a back tuck dismount; a forward salto (tucked) or front aerial on floor; and long hang kips and back sole circles on bars.

Higher levels, starting with Level 6, introduce optional routines with increasingly complex and varied skills, moving towards elite-level gymnastics
