Paradigm Gymnastics may not have an Olympic medalist on their team, but in the world of gymnastics, it's clear that stuck landings never go out of style.  

This week, the team made history by claiming their first national title at the South African National Gymnastics Championships in Centurion, Pretoria. The victory came after a nail-biting battle, with Paradigm edging out the perennial powerhouses from Gauteng.

 

At the heart of the team's triumph was Meeka Mabee, who clinched the coveted Gold medal and was crowned SA Champion, marking a significant milestone not just for the club, but for Cape Flats gymnastics as a whole.

Meeka’s performance was nothing short of extraordinary, marking a historic moment for her and her team. She began her day with a 9.150 on bars — an apparatus she has openly admitted is not her favorite. Despite this, she fought hard to tie for 3rd place with three other gymnasts, setting a new personal season-best.

Her second rotation saw her on the balance beam, where, as with many athletes, nerves often threaten to take over. However, if Meeka felt any jitters, they never showed. She delivered a stunning performance, one that took even her by surprise.
